The long running ‘Dream Along With Mickey” show that’s delighted guests of the Magic Kingdom since will be coming to an end. The show which taught us to take the dream with us, wherever we go will be departing to make room for the new “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire”. The new show which will debut this summer will feature stars of the animated films Tangled, Frozen and The Princess And The Frog.

As Disney states on their Parks Blog:

In “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire,” Mickey and his troupe of Merry Makers have been preparing to host a joyous festival and have ventured far and wide to invite friends from other lands to join their celebration. From the Land of the Bewitching Bayous, Goofy has invited Tiana, Naveen and Louis to add a little spice of New Orleans jazz to the party. From the Land of the Enchanted Woods, Donald Duck brings some new friends he met at the Snuggly Duckling, and Daisy introduces us to her special guests, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Finally, Mickey shares a surprise with Minnie, as he has traveled to the Land of the Mystic Mountains to invite Olaf, Anna and Elsa, who contributes a blast of her icy magic. It all culminates in a grand dance, as the Merry Makers invite all their special guests to join in the fun on this special day in Magic Kingdom Park!

While “Dream Along With Mickey” has it’s charms and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the show (I’ve stopped my wandering of the Magic Kingdom many times to join the crowd, I’m glad to see Disney refreshing the experience. Disney doesn’t need to replace this show as it’s a prime example of “not broke/don’t fix” mentality, especially when there some other experiences or attractions that could use a little TLC more. But shows like this are the spotlight for both the characters and stories Disney has made a part of our lives, and for the family that might not get to visit the Disney parks much or for very long, stopping to watch a show like this between attractions and meals may be their only chance to see some  of the marquee Princesses and the Fab Five.

The new show will mark the first time that both Rapunzel and Tiana will be a part of a forecourt show, as Anna and Elsa have been a part of Holiday festivities for the past two years with the Cinderella Castle lighting. Fans of “Dream Along With Mickey” or those wishing to see it for the first time still have a good amount of time to check out the show as it will continue to run until April 2nd.
